Our Score
Home Alone's Macaulay Culkin again proves more than a match for a whole bunch of adults with criminal tendencies in this inoffensive if grindingly obvious comedy. This time the victim of his machinations is his dad, crooked Ted Danson, who Culkin is trying to steer on to the straight and narrow. However, most of the humiliation is saved for Danson's inept sidekicks, Saul Rubinek and Gailard Sartain. Howard Deutch is a proficient enough second division director, but here he allows sentimentality to run riot, and the awkwardly ageing Culkin (approaching adolescence) no longer possesses the mischievous charm of old.

Spoilt child Timmy goes to live with his outwardly respectable father, but realises he is a small-time thief planning his latest robbery. Timmy sets out to reform his dad, and in the meantime manages to fix him up with an attractive undercover cop - leading to much confusion. Family comedy, starring Macaulay Culkin, Ted Danson, Glenne Headly and Hector Elizondo.
