Review

Our Score
This is one of the more lacklustre accounts of the exploits of American folk legend Jim Bowie (he of the knife fame). As the great man himself, Macdonald Carey completely fails to convey any sense of destiny as he tries to stop lovely Maureen O'Hara and her evil brother Charles Drake from mining on native American territory. O'Hara is as ravishing as ever, but this is only a very average western. For better portrayals of Bowie see Richard Widmark in The Alamo, Alan Ladd in The Iron Mistress and Sterling Hayden in The Last Command.

Summary

Jim Bowie's efforts to make peace with a hostile Indian tribe by introducing them to his legendary knife are thwarted by a ruthless bar owner. George Sherman's run-of-the-mill Western, starring Macdonald Carey, Maureen O'Hara, Will Geer and Charles Drake.
