Our Score
DJ Caruso and Shia LaBeouf, the director and star of Disturbia, team up again for this fast and furious conspiracy thriller. In a Hitchcockian tale of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary situations, LaBeouf plays a slacker who, along with single mother Michelle Monaghan, is contacted by a mysterious female voice at the end of a phone line. The pair are framed as terrorists, and must do as the voice commands in order to survive. Government official Billy Bob Thornton is on their tail, but the truth is more sinister than anyone can imagine. The film is well played, with a paranoid, 1970s sensibility, and this, along with moments of heart-pounding suspense and impressive stunt work, makes it a stylish and often awe-inspiring thrill ride.
