Our Score
This fast-moving gangster movie dates from the period when prolific director Edward L Cahn was still making half-decent films. It stars Donald Cook as a G man who infiltrates the Mob and falls for sexy Evalyn Knapp while tangling with nasty sadist J Carrol Naish. It moves along at a fine rate of knots like a good programmer should, and doesn't outstay its welcome, a lesson many contemporary movie-makers could learn. Watch out especially for Warren Hymer (San Francisco, 20,000 Years in Sing Sing) as a heavily Brooklyn-accented dumb hood.

An agent of Eliot Ness goes undercover to crack a Brooklyn crime ring and comes up against a heartless killer. Gangland comedy, starring Donald Cook, Evalyn Knapp, J Carroll Naish and Warren Hymer.
