Our Score
When a cardsharp is lynched by the five men he cheated, those involved start dying mysteriously. This neat little whodunnit is really Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians transposed to the Wild West, with Dean Martin as a cardplayer-turned-detective and Robert Mitchum as a preacher. Made during a brief fad for poker pictures (The Cincinnati Kid, Kaleidoscope, and Big Deal at Dodge City were others), it exists solely on the laconic charm of its two stars: Martin recalls his great days on Rio Bravo and Mitchum sends up his menacing cleric character from The Night of the Hunter.

A poker game ends in murder when one of the players is caught cheating and hanged by his opponents. However, one by one, the five men responsible for his death are found killed. A gambler who was there that night turns detective to uncover the culprit. Western murder mystery, starring Dean Martin, Robert Mitchum and Roddy McDowall.
