Our Score
Shot on a shoestring budget at the old Beaconsfield Studios, but set in Canada, this nail-biting thriller was based on a TV play by Arthur Hailey, who went on to find huge success as the writer of blockbuster novels such as Airport and Hotel. Written and produced by Peter Rogers and directed by Gerald Thomas, it follows the race against time to free a small boy from a bank vault before he suffocates - hardly what you expect from the team that devised the Carry On series, but Thomas builds the tension adroitly enough and gets a fine performance out of young Vincent Winter. Look out for Sean Connery in his first speaking role as a welder.

A boy manages to get himself locked in a bank vault. With 63 hours before the device opens, the authorities are left facing a race against time to free the lad before he runs out of air. Thriller, starring Robert Beatty, Betty McDowall, Vincent Winter, Lee Patterson and a young Sean Connery in an early role.
