Our Score
Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning are blessed and cursed with powerful telekinetic and psychic powers in this convoluted thriller from British director Paul McGuigan (Gangster No 1, Lucky Number Slevin). The two find themselves wanted by a shadowy government agency and a deadly underworld gang, and are chased through the seedier streets of Hong Kong, all in pursuit of a suitcase of money and a miracle serum that will help boost their abilities. The special effects are used economically, but the escapist fun is undermined by some pedestrian dialogue, a plot riddled with holes, and a central premise that's been handled with more wit and flair by TV's Heroes. Fanning's turn as wisecracking urchin is the clear highlight in an otherwise disappointing yarn.
