Our Score
One of the few cinema features made by prolific TV-movie director William Graham, this Second World War action film would never win any prizes for originality. But the story of a mini-sub raid on a German battleship is decently acted by James Caan and a supporting cast of British and American second-stringers. The Scottish loch scenes - in which the crews prepare for their mission to the Norwegian fjords - may lack thrills, but Graham brings an unexpected tension to the underwater finale, in spite of having to accommodate virtually every submarine cliché in the book.
