Review

Our Score
Robert Inman, casting an affectionate glance back towards the golden age of Frank Capra, has no trouble translating the spirit of his novel into a screenplay for director Glenn Jordan. Expertly capturing the detail of American small-town manners and mores, Inman allows the spirit of a country rattled by the Second World War to seep through the personal drama. Barnard Hughes is well cast as the Georgia editor who spits opinions with great relish, only to find his confidence eroded by imminent change.
