My Son Is Innocent

My Son Is Innocent

Larry Elikann (1996)

Our Score
Is there any topic in America that doesn't get made into a worthy TV movie? This is another predictable stroll through familiar small-screen territory, with Marilu Henner getting her teeth into the chunky role of a mother trying to clear son Nick Stahl of a rape charge. It's nice to see there's more to Ms Henner than playing Elaine Nardo in Taxi, but this is really one for fans of the genre only. TV-movie veteran Larry Elikann, who must rarely be out of work judging by his long list of credits, directs in his very imitable style.

A woman is distraught when her teenage son is convicted of rape. As friends, neighbours and the media all turn against the family, she vows to prove his innocence and enlists the help of a leading lawyer in her fight to free him from jail. Courtroom drama, starring Marilu Henner, Nick Stahl, Matt McCoy and Michelle Williams.
