Our Score
In this delightful comedy, adapted by Neil Simon from his hit Broadway show, Robert Redford (who appeared in the stage play) and Jane Fonda star as the young married couple attempting to achieve newly wedded bliss. Redford is a joy in a reasonably rare comic role, though Mildred Natwick almost steals the film as Fonda's mother. It's handled well by director Gene Saks (he also made The Odd Couple), who keeps the humour flowing and maintains a lively pace until about half an hour from the end.

A newlywed couple move into a small flat in Greenwich Village, New York. However, their cosy nest fails to live up to expectations and the duo discover there is a hole in the roof, the lift is out of order, the heating is not working and their neighbours are somewhat on the eccentric side. Comedy, based on Neil Simon's stage play, with Robert Redford, Jane Fonda, Mildred Natwick and Charles Boyer.
