Our Score
The spin doctors from BBC sitcom The Thick of It could probably hatch a more credible story than this one from writer/director (and former pilot) Tristan Loraine. It's woefully ill-judged from the start, when John Rhys-Davies blunders cartoonishly onto the scene as the British Prime Minister and negotiates an arms deal with a sinister sheik. In exchange for the contract, he divulges the co-ordinates of an elite SAS unit as casually as if he were ordering takeaway food. Loraine goes on to linger on torture scenes involving Captain Jill Mandelson (a dead-eyed Heather Peace), who becomes the lone survivor of the inevitable raid. Later, the focus shifts to Mandelson's twin sister Kimberley, who aims to expose the cover-up with her own bag of torture tricks and deception. Revealing the conspiracy in the introduction means the only real mystery is how this film got made, and you'll want this pain to end long before the last ludicrous twist.

Summary

A British prime minister agrees to reveal the location of an elite SAS unit in Afghanistan to secure a lucrative arms deal and his own re-election. However, his decision returns to haunt him when a member of the unit survives the insurgent attack and returns to the UK to investigate the leak. Political thriller, starring John Rhys-Davies, Marina Sirtis, Craig Fairbrass and Dhaffer L'Abidine.
