Our Score
This riotous Paramount picture teams Bob Hope and Lucille Ball in yet another reworking of Ruggles of Red Gap that sees Hope out West again, after his success as The Paleface. There's even a song hit, though Home Cookin' is no Buttons and Bows. Hope makes not the slightest attempt to "buttle" in the English manner, but Ball is excellent as rootin' tootin' tomboy heiress Agatha Floud. Director George Marshall (Destry Rides Again) simply indulges them. Bob and Lucy would team up twice more, in the more serious comedies The Facts of Life and Critic's Choice.

Bob Hope plays an unemployed English actor stranded in the middle of the Wild West, who finds himself posing as a butler to a wealthy woman (Lucille Ball). Comedy, also starring Bruce Cabot and Jack Kirkwood.
