Review

Our Score
This well-upholstered but ultimately mundane would-be thriller is set in what used to be called the Middle East powder keg, where Yul Brynner leads a motley crew across the Panavisioned desert to find guest star James Mason. Such worthies as Sal Mineo and Jack Warden are along for the (underscripted) ride, but veteran director (and also producer this time out) Ronald Neame shows little sense of dramatic pacing. There is, however, handsome desert Technicolor location photography by Ellsworth Fredericks.

Summary

A group of desperate rebels manage to avoid being recaptured by corrupt government officials in a Middle Eastern country. They flee across the desert, led by a renegade warrior - but their journey looks set to be perilous as their enemies are hot on their heels, and it seems there's no end in sight. Action adventure, starring Yul Brynner, Sal Mineo, Jack Warden and Jay Novello.
