Review

Our Score
A well-constructed but thoroughly predictable bedroom farce adapted from his own play by John Mortimer. Tired of being interrupted during their midday trysts, wallpaper executive Robert Stephens and designer Shirley Anne Field book a hotel room, but then their problems really start. Directed at a fair lick by James Hill, this lively romp is admirably played, with Kay Walsh and Nigel Davenport's supporting turns particularly worthy of note, but there's often an excess of chat between the excruciating moments.

Summary

A junior executive turns his mind to romance, and sets off for a night of passion after reserving a room at a hotel - only for his torrid plans to go awry when his short-term relationship with a designer takes an unexpected turn. Comedy, starring Robert Stephens, Shirley Anne Field, Michael Robbins and Nigel Davenport.
