Review

Our Score
Clark Gable squirmed at the idea of wearing a pigtail, knickerbockers and shoes with silver buckles to play the part of Fletcher Christian, in what was to be his first costume movie. But he and Charles Laughton (as Captain Bligh) teamed to bracing effect in this lavish and stirring adventure on the high seas, based, of course, on the famous real-life mutiny. Director Frank Lloyd twice won best director Oscars - for The Divine Lady and Cavalcade - but this may be his best movie of all. The Academy certainly thought so, voting it best picture of its year.

Summary
