Editor of the found-footage franchise since Part 2, Gregory Plotkin makes his directing debut with the sixth (supposedly final) chapter in the varying series, the first shot in 3D. Here the Fleege family is subjected to the familiar terrors hidden in the darkness of their new home where they find a vintage video camera and VHS tapes. The latter show footage of the Part 3 sisters inducted to their grandmother's coven while being mentally prepared to meet the now visible demon Toby. Meanwhile the occult customised recorder serves as a trippy lens to Toby's ectoplasmic spiritual world, capturing every ghoulish glitch and bog-standard bump in the night. The most cinematic episode so far sporting impressive special effects - the bedroom portal to hell, the satanic magic circle - it still leans too hard on unexceptional scare tactics with the dragged-out ending collapsing into conventional ghost whispering and devilish dreariness.

A man moves into a new house along with his wife, daughter and younger brother, and finds an old camcorder and a box of videotapes. The siblings start watching the tapes, which turn out to be home movies shot by the property's previous owners, but by doing so, they unleash evil spirits into the world. Horror sequel, starring Chris J Murray and Brit Shaw.
