Shamelessly inverting Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, this culture-clashing masala confirmed Subhash Ghai's status as a major Bollywood crowd pleaser. The common link is Shah Rukh Khan, who is detailed by US-based foster father Amrish Puri to matchmake his decadent son, Apoorva Agnihotri, with his old friend Alok Nath's demure daughter, Mahima Chaudhary. However, in teaching the couple about each other's values, virtues and vices, he ends up forming the third side of an inevitable romantic triangle. Chaudhary impresses in a role originally intended for Madhuri Dixit. But the crucial feel-good factors are Khan's charisma and Ghai's flair for spectacle.

A woman goes to America for an arranged marriage to the Westernised son of a prosperous businessman. She finds her new husband is deceitful and violent, but finds comfort in his kind foster brother, whom she falls in love with, outraging her own father. Musical drama, starring Mahima Chaudhry and Shahrukh Khan.
