Our Score
Paul Muni - Hollywood's resident impersonator of Great Men of Our Time - plays a Norwegian fisherman fighting Nazi tyranny alongside a team of British commandos. When his daughter is held hostage by the Nazis he escapes to England and leads a sabotage mission to Norway. Based on a yarn by Hornblower writer CS Forester and adapted by Irwin Shaw, author of The Young Lions, it's a bit plodding for a flag-waver, getting bogged down with romance supplied by Anna Lee, but boasts an interesting cast, including silent screen legend Lillian Gish who hadn't made a film since 1933.
