Our Score
Will Hay is back before the blackboard and on the trail of Nazi spies in this spooky comedy. Hay and his class of likely lads are evacuated to a castle on the Isle of Skye that is haunted by a ghost whose skirling bagpipes are a portent of death. While the mystery is moderately baffling, the highlights are the classroom showdowns in which Hay's academic shortcomings are gleefully exposed by brainbox Charles Hawtrey. Hay is on fine form, but the entire ensemble is splendid, particularly Raymond Huntley as a suspicious teacher and John Laurie as the school janitor.

Summary

A hapless teacher takes a job at a grim school in a remote part of Scotland that is believed to be haunted by a ghostly piper whose music foretells the death of a staff member. When he hears the sound of bagpipes in the night, he must find a way to avoid falling prey to the curse. Comedy, starring Will Hay and Claude Hulbert.
