Richard Hearne's enduring creation Mr Pastry delighted audiences for over 25 years. The youthful Hearne's impersonation of an incident-prone old man was popular not just in the UK and the US, but all across Europe. The character made a record number of appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and was a favourite of comedy superstar Buster Keaton. In this film, Mr Pastry is an ex-con paying an unwanted visit to his daughter, who has made something of herself in society. Though not a patch on Pastry's many TV shows, it's still a nostalgic treat.
