Summary
An epic tale about a group of whale watchers, whose ship breaks down and they get picked up by a whale fisher vessel. The Fishbillies on the vessel has just gone bust, and everything goes out of control.

Ridiculously stereotyped international tourists find themselves the "catch of the day" after their whale-watching trip goes horrifically awry in this derivative Icelandic chiller. A scrappy twist on The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (and featuring the original Leatherface himself, Gunnar Hansen, in an extended cameo as the unfortunate ship's captain), it sees the persistently self-centred and obnoxious foreigners picked off by a freaky, in-bred fishing family in gory but bog-standard ways. Though the old whaling boat setting is claustrophobic, the speed of the kills and general predictability of events ensure there's no real tension, and poor acting and unsympathetic characters further diminish the film's impact. Still, non-PC black humour, chucked in among the clichés, should keep genre fans in high spirits, even if it doesn't always translate fully.
