Journey to the Centre of the Earth

Journey to the Centre of the Earth

Our Score
An atrocious Spanish version of Jules Verne's classic novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth from Hispanic hack director Juan Piquer Simon of Supersonic Man infamy. Kenneth More looks bored and out of place as the expedition leader exploring the bowels of the earth who fights off the usual array of photographically blown-up turtles, men in ape suits and rubber dinosaurs. Sluggish pacing, uninspired direction and deadly dull dialogue make this journey a dreary descent all round. The only improvement Piquer makes on the superior 1959 blockbuster is axing Pat Boone's songs!

Adventure. Stars Kenneth More. After finding a map, Professor Otto Lindenbrock leads an expedition deep below the Earth's surface to discover its long-hidden secrets.
