Kids in Love

This coming-of-age drama is a film about finding yourself. The main character is Jack (Will Poulter), a bright young man who is taking a gap year while weighing his options. His father has arranged for him to accept an internship at a law firm, and his best friend is planning to go travelling, but Jack isn't sure what he wants to do. One day, he meets Evelyn (Alma Jodorowsky), a beautiful French girl who introduces him to her bohemian friends, including Cara Delevingne in another turn as a pouting free spirit. Soon, Jack is spending most of his time with a group of artsy, privileged, carefree Londoners who like to party. Director Chris Foggin, making his feature debut, never makes it clear whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, but Poulter remains likeable and engaging throughout. Undoubtedly, his performance is the main reason for watching Kids In Love, although the film does have some nice moments that capture the essence of youth.
