Our Score
An early Hollywood role for Liam Neeson, playing a deaf-mute Vietnam veteran accused of murder. Cher plays his lawyer and Dennis Quaid the jury member who provides a glimmer of hope in a seemingly hopeless case. Director Peter Yates winds up the courtroom tension to some effect, but any sympathy for Neeson's predicament soon gets lost as suspicion shifts to a higher legal authority and the plot becomes too far-fetched.

A member of the jury convinced of the defendant's innocence breaks the rules to assist her in proving her case, leading the pair to uncover corruption in high places.
