Lionel Jeffries (1973)

AA Certificate

Our Score
Actor-turned-director Lionel Jeffries never puts a foot wrong through the quagmire of clichés that so often swamp stories of ill-adjusted youngsters. The drama is set in California and sees the 12-year-old hero (Scott Jacoby) being treated for his lisp by speech therapist Patricia Neal, which seems to put him at odds with his friends and compounds the problem of his parents splitting up. The acting throughout lives up to the gravitas of the film's serious theme.

A boy struggling to cope with a speech impediment is driven to an emotional breakdown by the conflict between his parents. Drama, starring Patricia Neal and Scott Jacoby.
