Review

Our Score
Ray Charles's only major film is a well-intentioned though mawkish tale, in which the singer (playing himself) enriches the lives of a mother and her blind son. Charles is no actor and the rest of the cast seem to have picked up his slow, deliberate pace; but fans will not want to miss him singing a dozen numbers, including Hit the Road, Jack and Busted.

Summary

Ray Charles befriends a recently blinded boy and helps him come to terms with his disability, assisting the reconciliation of his parents in the process. Drama, starring Charles as himself, with Tom Bell and Mary Peach. Directed by Paul Henreid.
