James Wong resumes directing duties for this third entry in the horror franchise, which like its predecessors delivers more gruesome deaths and ghoulish giggles. High-school graduate Wendy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is boarding the Devil's Flight rollercoaster ride when she has a terrifying premonition of a fatal accident. After she gets off, a scuffle breaks out and those classmates ejected from the ride then watch as disaster ensues. But that's just the beginning: one by one they fall victim to a series of elaborately structured and gory fatalities. The gimmick here is that Winstead's photo record of the ominous night provides clues to the mode of her friends' demise. This adds a surprise element to the intricate and visually ingenious slaughter scenarios - including death by sun bed, firework display and workout equipment. As hysterical laughter merges once again with screams of terror, this is a worthy addition to the series.
Plot Summary
Horror thriller starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ryan Merriman. After a number of her classmates cheat death in a rollercoaster accident, a high-school student discovers that a series of photographs holds the key to the fate of the survivors and a race against time begins to warn those in peril.
