Following the likes of Knocked Up and Don Jon comes this raunchy and refreshingly honest American indie about modern relationships. It's a little uneven and ragged around the edges compared with its Hollywood predecessors, but is still a welcome addition for focusing on a young mother, Rachel (Kathryn Hahn), whose marriage is in a rut. After visiting a strip bar with her surly husband (Josh Radnor) to put the zip back into their love life, Rachel meets teenage stripper McKenna (Juno Temple). The two become friends, and Rachel invites McKenna to come and work as her young son's nanny, despite the revelation that she moonlights as a hooker. This can't end well, not least because the story takes some very implausible turns. Nevertheless, writer/director Jill Soloway puts a lot of thought into her characters, creating a sexy, truthful comedy aimed at broad-minded women who are looking for something more mature than Bridesmaids but aren't yet ready for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
