Booze, boobs and the unashamed Eugene Levy... yes, it's business as usual for the fifth instalment in the bawdy franchise. But whereas the original American Pie always felt like a proper feature, this tired straight-to-DVD cash-in is more a badly paced patchwork of vulgar vignettes. The story, for what it's worth, revolves around high-school virgin Erik Stifler (John White) after his girlfriend gives him free rein for a wild weekend at his cousin's college. Even fans of teen sex comedies will find the verbal gags repetitive, predictable and often plain unfunny, while the visual jokes are dragged out to tedious levels. With poor acting and direction only emphasising the script's laziness, this is one barrel-scraper to avoid.
Plot Summary
Comedy sequel starring series regular Eugene Levy as Jim's dad, and introducing another member of the Stifler family, cousin Erik (John White). Erik and his high-school pals pay a visit to another cousin, Dwight, at his college for a weekend of partying.
