Review

Our Score
A best friend's apparent murder uncovers a web of lies and corruption in this entertaining TV movie. Strong on atmosphere and boasting an intriguing multi-stranded plotline, it sees small-town jewellery maker Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) take on more than she bargained for when she agrees to sort out the personal effects of her deceased, New York-based pal. Skilful editing and a suspenseful score work wonders, creating an air of menace during even the most innocuous events. But after an absorbing build-up, the reveals are thrown away in unsatisfying chunks. Consequently, everything gets too convenient and far-fetched, with the behaviour of characters becoming unconvincing. A pleasing double-twist climax almost makes amends, but then the ridiculous dialogue dilutes its impact.

Summary

A woman leaves her peaceful suburban home for New York to settle the affairs of her best friend, who has been murdered. She discovers there may have been more to the killing than the official explanation suggests - and realises her own life is also in danger. Mystery, starring Kristanna Loken and Warren Christie.
