Dirk Bogarde dons some serious checked shirts and sets out to prove that he can stand up to mean Stanley Baker, who is out to swipe his land, in this unconvincing adventure set in Canada. There is some stunning location photography and a reliable British supporting cast, but director Ralph Thomas looks a little out of his depth in this genre.
Plot Summary
Adventure based on the novel by Hammond Innes, starring Dirk Bogarde and Stanley Baker. Although gravely ill, Bruce Campbell travels to the Canadian Rockies to take over his grandfather's inheritance. The land is said to contain oil and Bruce sets out to prove it, clashing with Owen Morgan, an unscrupulous contractor who plans to flood "Campbell's Kingdom" to power his new hydroelectric dam.
