In this bittersweet indie drama, dying coffee-shop owner John Riedlinger puts friendship to the ultimate test when he asks his best pal - and one-time girlfriend - Amy Colón to bear his child. What follows is a thoughtful and honest look at the physical and emotional impact of terminal illness, anchored by a charming and largely convincing romance. As reality bites and priorities shift, it's cute yet deeply affecting to see Riedlinger and Colón's likeable characters gently falling in love again - particularly since neither wallow in the tragedy of their circumstances. Strong, initially wry scripting and straightforward plotting complement the universally solid acting, resulting in a simple climax that hits harder by avoiding clichéd expectation.

Plot Summary
