Jet Attack

Jet Attack

Edward L Cahn (1958)

U Certificate

Our Score
One of the six B-programme-fillers director Edward L Cahn delivered in 1958, this is interesting chiefly for its use of faded names John Agar (the former Mr Shirley Temple) and Audrey Totter (late of MGM) rather than its plot about a jet scientist whose plane is shot down over Korea. Former Universal editor Cahn was staggeringly prolific, churning out features almost at the rate of one a month in the early 1960s, before his death in 1963, aged 64. Undoubtedly, an Edward L Cahn season would reveal most of his films to be low-grade junk. This is no exception.

Three American fighter pilots are shot down behind enemy lines during the Korean war, where they encounter a mysterious Russian nurse. She enlists their aid in rescuing an atomic scientist who is being held captive by the communist forces, but they remain uncertain whether she can be trusted. Action adventure, starring John Agar and Audrey Totter.
