What would have happened if the Americans had modern aircraft carriers and nuclear weapons during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941? That's the ingenious premise of this absorbing science-fiction thriller as Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen sail into a time warp and have the power to alter history at the touch of a button. Meanwhile, people from the past Katharine Ross and Charles Durning try to get their heads around the existence of jets and helicopters in the skies above the Pacific. Reminiscent of the Twilight Zone but on a big budget, the film was given unprecedented access to film aboard the USS Nimitz.

An aircraft carrier on manoeuvres near Hawaii passes through a time warp and ends up in the Pacific Ocean just before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour. The crew members struggle to decide whether to intervene and stop the devastation they know is about to occur - while having no way of telling what the consequences for the future would be. Sci-fi adventure, starring Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, Katharine Ross and James Farentino.
