This rather disappointing sequel isn't anywhere near the equal of the endearing original, in which the delightful talking-pig hero entered a sheepdog trial and won hearts as well as prizes. Here, Babe finds himself in constant danger when he travels to the city to earn money after Farmer Hoggett is injured. The action is taken at too frantic a pace to let the personalities come through, though the special-effects work with the animals is still quite wonderful and visually impressive.
Plot Summary
Fantasy comedy adventure sequel. After Farmer Hoggett is injured in an accident, his wife, Esme, takes Babe the pig to a state fair to raise money to save the farm. Stranded in the city, the pair stay in a sinister hotel inhabited by a group of strange animals. When the fearsome animal-control squad visits, Babe's new companions are impounded, and the plucky pig sets out to help them - aided by his old friend Ferdinand the duck.
