Review

Our Score
Director Norman J Warren lays on the nudity and gore in this obscure, lurid tale of devil worship and ancestral evil. Candace Glendenning plays the girl coming up to her 20th birthday, whose visit to her eccentric uncle (played by Michael Gough) coincides with the violent death of her parents and an attempt to resurrect a witch. Cinematographer Les Young's intense use of colour is matched by Gough's gregarious performance, but Warren ultimately overindulges in horror clich├ęs and garish set pieces, notably the one involving an eyeball and a nail file.

Summary

A couple take their teenage daughter to meet her eccentric uncle, but are blind to the fact that he is the leader of a Satanic cult and is planning to sacrifice his niece as part of a ritual to resurrect his dead wife. The girl thinks she has found an ally in her cousin, but he turns out to be even more twisted than his father. Horror, with Michael Gough, Martin Potter and Candace Glendenning.
