The mismatched buddy movie reaches an apotheosis of sorts here in director Tony Scott's flashy and foul-mouthed no-brainer, which forsakes plot for overblown shoot-outs and endless car chases. Lifting it above the thick-ear realm is the engaging chemistry between seedy gumshoe Bruce Willis and ex-star quarterback Damon Wayans. Both actors let humour spring effortlessly from their own personalities as well as from their screen characters, and the snappy put-downs make the super-charged action bearable.

Plot Summary

Action thriller starring Bruce Willis. Former government agent Joe Hallenbeck takes a job as a bodyguard. When the girl he is protecting is murdered he joins forces with her boyfriend, ex-professional football star Jimmy Dix, to track down the killer.
