Review

Our Score
Director Phil Karlson turned out a number of commendably gritty, modestly budgeted crime films and this is a good example. Its ingenious story (by Rowland Brown and Harold R Greene) has John Payne's ex-convict become a detective to unearth an ex-policeman turned criminal mastermind. It features the innovative touch (taken from the 1950 Brink's hold-up) of bank robbers wearing grotesque masks to conceal their identities. Someone had a sharp eye for casting as the three accomplices are played by a young Lee Van Cleef, Jack Elam and Neville Brand.

Summary
