In this extremely silly but enjoyable Coma-style medical thriller, Hugh Grant stars as a doctor who uncovers dastardly deeds involving homeless patients at a big city hospital. Grant - too wooden to be convincing - is out-acted and outclassed at every turn by co-star Gene Hackman, who chews the scenery as the revered surgeon who is Grant's number one suspect. Director Michael Apted's film (which was produced by Elizabeth Hurley for Simian Films, the company she set up with Grant) contains few surprises, but it does have a few laughs thanks to Grant and Hackman (unintentionally and intentionally, respectively).
