Christmas Snow

Christmas Snow

Gus Trikonis (1986)

Our Score
Adapted from Paul Theroux's novella, London Snow, this is yet another reworking of the Scrooge theme. The miser here is played by Sid Caesar, a landlord in a small midwestern town who thinks nothing of turfing widow Katherine Helmond and her two adopted children out of their sweet shop just days before Christmas. You'd think it would be mince pies all round when the old curmudgeon goes missing, but Helmond insists on finding him to keep alive the spirit of the season. Set in the 1950s, this sentimental tale neither holds the attention nor warms the heart.

A widow and her two children discover just before Christmas that their landlord is going to evict them from their home and the sweet shop they run. However, when the miser goes missing during a blizzard, the shopkeeper decides to do the right thing and organise a search. Drama, with Sid Caesar, Katherine Helmond and Melissa Joan Hart.
