Comedy starring Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke and Adam Scott. A millionaire and his friends use a magic jacuzzi to travel through time in search of the man who shot him.
After their first time-travelling adventure brings Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson hindsight-assisted fame and fortune, their lives are turned upside-down, prompting them to leap once more into the magical, ski-resort jacuzzi. Nowhere to be seen, however, is the first film's major player John Cusack, which sends out its own warning about the dismal quality of this unwarranted follow-up. Now Corddry's shrill boorishness takes centre stage, with charm being utterly elusive, as he heads towards 2025 to find the would-be assassin who opened fire at him - having become an unlikely search-engine magnate - during a party at his garish mansion. Relentless sexism, tired gay-panic humour, and numerous garbled attempts to explain the plot's time-hopping logic all add up to a sloppy, cynical, mirth-free farrago which fails completely to recapture the original film's combination of boozy larkiness and underlying nostalgia for the passing of youth. The result is 93 minutes of your life you'll never wish to revisit.
