Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

A dark cycle of murder and revenge is observed by a charismatic hitman (Simon Pegg) in a dark comedy that ties itself up in knots. Jumping back and forth in time, the story sees a shady businessman hire Pegg to kill his cheating wife, unaware that someone has beaten him to it. It's a muddled imitation of a Tarantino movie, filled with bullets and annoyingly familiar plot twists. None of the characters are particularly compelling, nor is the story interesting enough to be worth the effort of keeping up with the erratic editing. The one bright spot is the underused Pegg, who enjoys every moment as the bad-ass assassin. Seeing the normally nerdy actor in a different light is refreshing, despite his extreme dodgy moustache. He brightens up every scene he's in, but isn't enough to save a plot that needs rethinking in almost every department.
