White Noise: the Light

White Noise: the Light

Our Score
White Noise was about electronic voice phenomena and starred Michael Keaton as a man being contacted by the dead. Despite its title, this decent follow-up bears little connection to the first film - it's about the killer consequences of near-death experience, and Keaton has been replaced by Serenity and Slither star Nathan Fillion. He plays a man whose own close call with the Grim Reaper leaves him with the ability not only to sense imminent death in others, but also to avert it. He discovers, though, that playing God can be a devil of a job. It's a furrow that's been better ploughed by such shockers as Final Destination, but the special effects are OK, and the storyline entertains despite its tendency to go increasingly over the top.

A man tries to commit suicide following the murder of his family. Although close to death, he is revived and discovers he now has the ability to predict when others are about to die. Using his new-found psychic skill to save lives, he learns too late the dire and unforeseen consequences of his well-intentioned meddling. Horror, starring Nathan Fillion and Katee Sackhoff.
