Hercules star Kevin Sorbo made the switch from television to the big screen with this sword-and-sorcery epic, based on characters created by Robert E Howard (of Conan fame). Barbarian Kull becomes King of Valusia, but his attempts to free his people bring him into conflict with shape-shifting sorceress Tia Carrere (Wayne's World, True Lies. It's a disjointed adventure and the good versus evil conventions of the genre are clich├ęd, but director John Nicolella (Miami Vice) gives the film a darker hue and edgier atmosphere than normal.

Plot Summary

Fantasy action adventure starring Kevin Sorbo and Tia Carrere. Barbarian warrior Kull unexpectedly becomes ruler of Valusia when he slays the king in battle and the dying man hands him the crown. But Kull's life is threatened when others begin to plot against him.
