About this programme

Underwater technology is used to explore the wreckage of the German battleship, 650km off the French coast. The fearsome vessel's sinking in 1941 fuelled British propaganda, provided a turning point in the Second World War, and marked the end of this kind of ship as the dominant force in naval warfare.
