Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Series 12 - 9. Gray

Radio Times
Review by:
Jane Rackham

Benson and Stabler investigate an alleged rape at Hudson University, but with no forensic evidence (the incident took place months earlier) and no witnesses, it’s a truly grey area.

Actually it’s more like 50 shades of grey as the detectives stumble about without any clear idea which student is telling the truth and what the university’s disciplinary committee is covering up. “Do you expect us to believe this limp cock-and-bull story?” says ADA Sonya Paxton (Christine Lahti), newly returned from alcohol rehabilitation, but displaying a satisfying sharpness of wit.

Up against her in court is the wonderful CCH Pounder as Carolyn Maddox.

About this programme

9/24. Stabler and Benson investigate when a college student claims one of her peers raped her. Both parties are brought in for questioning, but conflicting statements and a lack of evidence make the detectives' job even more difficult.
