The mystery-of-the-week in the final episode is a bit perfunctory – a businessman is shot dead at his charity fundraising party – because the real meat of the story is in the last 15 minutes and it has nothing to do with murder. After the puzzle is solved and Detective Richard Poole assembles a clutch of British character actors in a single room (including Julie Graham and Lucy Davis) to unmask the killer, the chief of police (Don Warrington) wants a word.
The boss’s hulking presence in Honoré is never a good sign, although he brings mixed blessings when he springs a surprise on Richard (Ben Miller). The romantics among you will be reading the faces of Richard and lovely Camille (Sara Martins) for signs of affection. (They love each other, they do, they do!) They’ll be returning for a third series.
About this programme
8/8. When a shot is fired at a charity fundraiser, host Malcolm Powell is found dead in his study. The victim's PA is certain she knows who the culprit is - a mystery man named Jack Roberts who had an appointment with her boss and was seen fleeing from the scene of the crime. Richard and his team find the suspect's abandoned car nearby with no clues as to his whereabouts or motive for the killing. However, a background check on the dead man reveals that he and his wife defrauded investors out of millions of pounds back in England. Guest starring Sean Pertwee, Lucy Davis and Julie Graham. Last in the series.
