About this programme

Gethin Jones makes an appeal on behalf of Renewable World, a charity that works in developing countries to tackle poverty. The presenter meets Sumina, who lives in a remote village in Nepal and until the intervention of aid had struggled to grow enough crops to feed her family, due to the harsh landscape and lack of water and energy. With the help of charitable donations, a pumping system has alleviated some of the difficulties and she has begun to generate a sustainable income.
