Even the landed gentry aren’t above a bit of bartering with salvage hunter Drew Pritchard. He’s driven five and a half hours to meet Sir David Kinloch of Gilmerton House in East Lothian. Pritchard’s white van may look a bit out of place trundling up the drive of a Grade A-listed building, but if he can get a good deal for a 19th-century kitchen table in need of some TLC he won’t mind. Dealing with a knight is one thing; but the real challenge comes when he meets fellow professional restorer Eddie Whiteside.
About this programme
1/10. Drew Pritchard searches the UK for valuable scrap items. He tries to make a profit on a collection of 19th-century balconet rails, finds himself bartering with a baronet at one of Scotland's grandest estates and is given a run for his money by a seasoned salvager.
